Borders:
More Than Lines

Borders, both physical and ideological, define and shape the experiences of refugees and migrants. They are marked by restrictive policies, military presence, and heightened surveillance, particularly at the Southern borders of Europe. The crisis has exposed the fragility of open borders, leading to the reimposition of controls and the militarization of border management. Simultaneously, borders have also become spaces of solidarity, challenging the harsh policies imposed by states.

I conduct various interviews to understand the movement and the situation of people’s asylum cases and their lives. This helps me gain deeper insights into their experiences and challenges.
